ELPHAME
Elphame, or the Fae Realm, is a mystical, otherworldly domain that exists parallel to the human world. It is a land of ever-changing landscapes, where time and rules of nature are fluid. The skies may shift from dawn to dusk in moments, and seasons can change with a mere thought. Forests are alive with ancient trees that whisper secrets, while sparkling rivers flow with liquid starlight. The Fae themselves are capricious, powerful, and sometimes dangerous, bound by their own cryptic code of conduct. The realm is full of enchantment, with illusions and enchantments shaping reality, where beauty and peril are often indistinguishable. It is a place where mortals can lose themselves to time, magic, and the whims of the Fae.
FAE RULES
Faeries follow the old laws.
The law of hospitality
They are to not harm a guest to their domains, but guests to their domains are expected to bring a gift, comport themselves with dignity, and entertain their host. The law of kindness
Kindness brings on kindness. Callousness brings on callousness. A faerie is justified in rewarding the former and punishing the latter. The law of gifts
A gift must not be refused. A gift should also not be accepted. Refusing a gift implies you are more worthy than the giver. Accepting a gift implies you are there only for the gift and not the host. The law of custom
If you are hosted by the spring court, shed your inhibitions, and clothes. The summer, be willing to fight for any cause. Fall, get ready to scare or be scared. And winter, be ready to die. And yes, killing you is the winter court being hospitable. Not killing you is also the winter court being hospitable. The law of illusion
A faerie cannot lie, but also may not be as they appear. They are not lying. They are something else. The law of challenge
You can demand a challenge to redress insults. It is recommended you do not do this. A challenge has to be possible, and the faerie might alter you to MAKE it possible. The law of alliance
All non-fae are assumed to be neutral. Upon declaration that you are for a particular court, a particular queen, or even a particular fae, all their allies become your ally, all their enemies are now your enemies, and you are expected to honor them. That means just calling a faerie a friend can enbroil you in their politics and war.The law of respect
The bigger, the stronger, and most importantly the older a fae is, the more respect it is due no matter how humble they appear.
B.O.A.F RULES
Rules and guidelines formed by the B.O.A.F, and has since been extended to human citizens as a safety protocol.1. At no point in time should you ever provide your "true" name to a fae or suspected fae. Introduce yourself by a nickname, middle name or otherwise false name. A human name is power, and by handing it over you are giving them control.2. Avoid consuming food or drinks sourced from the fae realm. Not everything is edible to humans, and pure fae-grown food can cause humans to lose control over their own actions.3. When offered a gift by a fae do not directly accept or deny it. Acknowledge it and set it aside, do not take it with you. Accepting a gift will put you in debt to them, and they will expect one in return.4. Do not say "Thank you" to a fae, as saying so will also put you in debt to them.5. Do not dance with them or accept any invitations to dance when near rings of flowers or mushrooms. Doing so may cause you to get trapped, and without their help you will be forced to dance for eternity.6. Deny all offers for a deal. Even if it seems fair, a tricky fae will know how to push the boundaries and manipulate it to mean more than what you may have thought.7. Carry shiny yet otherwise uncared for trinkets. In the case that a fae steals something from you, you may need to bargain for it back. Do not try to take it without giving anything in return, reference rule 3.

B.O.A.F
B.O.A.F. (Birds of a Feather) is a secretive and highly skilled militia group specializing in hunting fae. Known for their eerie, glowing lanterns, the group uses these enchanted lights to trap fae inside, effectively neutralizing their magical abilities. The militia operates under a strict code, with members wearing feathered insignia to symbolize unity in their cause. B.O.A.F. is feared by fae and admired by humans for their efficiency in controlling the mystical creatures, though their methods are often controversial.
